Art Songs for Vocal and Piano

“Art Songs for Vocal Solo and Piano is so perfect for ANY singer!  A well-coached high school student could sing any of these.  The finest professional would love singing any of these.  The poetry is Dickinson, Lord Byron, Thomas Dekker, Burns, Frost, Milton, 2 Rossetti poems, John Dowland and others.  Some are of love, all of deep sentiment, and some of relationship with God.  As I sang through the book, I thought of different students who the song would be perfect for and I can’t wait to start coaching singers on these songs and put together another recital including as many of these as I can.  UNLIKE most of the collections which claim to be for young singers, these poems are not embarrassing or dated, even though the poets are long past.  They are timeless and still relevant and I know my students would enjoy them.  And the vocal lines are elegant and yummy! The accompaniments are complimentary, playable, AND interesting.”
